Anointing of the Sick is the sacrament administered when a person’s health is seriously impaired due to illness or old age. A Catholic person of any age can receive this sacrament. This sacrament channels God’s healing graces to comfort and strengthen the person who is ill. The sacrament of Anointing of the sick helps someone overcome and endure suffering and the anointing has psychological effects and sometimes even physical cure.
